Student Compliance
SSO
If the SSO setup has not been previously configured, the school will need to coordinate with the Exxat support team to initiate the process. Here is an overview of the steps involved:
- Sharing IT Contact Information:
The school provides the contact details of their IT department to the Exxat support team. - SSO Configuration:
Exxat’s support team works directly with the school’s IT department to configure the SSO integration. This includes setting up the required metadata, endpoints, and testing authentication. - Confirmation of Setup:
Once configuration is complete and tested successfully, we confirm the setup with the school. - User Management:
At this stage, the school can begin adding and inviting new users (students, faculty, or staff) to access the system using SSO.
If users were already created prior to SSO being enabled, we verify their details and convert their login method to SSO so that they can continue accessing the system seamlessly.
SSO setup is configured at the University level. However, if an SSO key is not added for a specific user, the system treats them as a non-SSO user. This allows for flexibility—cohorts such as CO2027 can function without SSO while others like CO2028 can use SSO, as long as the SSO keys are managed accordingly.
If the SSO setup has already been configured and the school has the correct SSO keys, they can directly add students and send invitations without needing to contact the support team, unless assistance is required for troubleshooting or additional configuration.
This issue generally arises when students receive the invitation email but do not click on the activation link. Instead, they attempt to login directly through the portal, which doesn't complete the activation process. Activation via the invitation link is necessary for the initial login to work properly.
